Regional Council Resources
Make-A-Wish Illinois is proud to have eight active Regional and Neighborhood Councils across the state. Made up of community members who serve as leadership volunteers, the Regional Councils serve as a conduit of community support for those who wish to help children with life-threatening medical conditions through Make-A-Wish.
Engaged community members serve on each council and are charged with promoting and helping to deliver the Make-A-Wish Illinois mission in their community through community engagement. The focus regional and neighborhood councils is to build awareness and support for Make-A-Wish Illinois, enhancing the local presence of this worldwide charity. Creating deeper connections in each region with schools, community organizations, health and medical services and businesses, council member enlist local support for wish granting and medical outreach activities and help recruit volunteers needed in their areas.
Most councils also help support local fundraising events to reach targeted revenue goals. These councils organize their own events or help to secure sponsorships and participation in statewide fundraising initiatives.
